Mary S questioned:

My dog died recently (a boxer, we had her for 13 years!). I really want my next dog to be a boston terrier. I like their friendly personalities, and I reckon I’m ready for a smaller dog after having a huge one for so long. But, I don’t want to spend a huge fortune (I’d be willing to go up to 400), and I’m worried of getting an unhealthy puppy. Any advice?

I have a 7mo Boston Terrier and he absolutely despises going in the water (pool/ocean). (He’ll tolerate taking a bath) What can I do so that he’ll like going in the water? I live in So Cal less than 1 mile from the beach, so him liking the water is kinda vital to me.

What is the funniest trick your boston terrier can do? what is your BTs name?

My boston terrier boy Peanut knows how to beg, shake, sit, then lay down and then roll-over. But most of the time he goes from sitting to rolling over. It is too amusing!
I am the “alpha female” in the house and Peanut follows me everywhere. Even into the bathroom. My husband says that when I leave the house, Peanut lies underneath the bed, and doesn’t come out until I am back home again. He is so sweet.

Is it true that a Boston Terrier with a mostly white face could be deaf?

Aimee M questioned:

My Boston Terrier has a white face and I reckon I have noticed that he might have a hearing problem. I have read that Bostons with a lot of white on their face are often deaf. His mother had a white face too. How common is this? The puppy was free, and we don’t plot to breed him, we like him and just want him to be healthy.

What breed of dog would make a good companion for a boston terrier?

Kali questioned:

I have a 1 year ancient boston terrier, male, still fully intact, and am thinking of getting a companion for him. I want to get a different breed with similar personality traits, and around the same size or smaller. I also reckon it is vital that the breed be a excellent crosse between athletic and lap dog. Suggestions?
Thanks for the fantastic thoughts everybody! I wanted to add a couple of things for people to reckon about;
Boston terriers can be aggressive at points so the breed would have to be able to stand up for it. Also, I prefer athletic breeds that can go running with me. With this being said I reckon a minimum weight requirement would be 10 pounds. Hope this helps narrow the field.
This has nothing to do with breeding. Honestly, I just want to get another dog, because I am moving out of a house where he has mutliple dogs to play with. I don’t want to go and have him get lonely. I am basically looking for another terrific dog to keep my current dog company. My current dog is a stud, and I am not about to mess up his blood lines with mixed breed off-springs. This is a completely legit question, but I can appreciate where your concern comes from.

My Boston Terrier was potty trained when we brought the new 3mo ancient pitbull/boxer mix in to our home. Now the boston is climbing on people and peeing on them. They get along fantastic that is why we don’t know where all this is coming from.
