I have a 14 month ancient chocolate lab/german small haired pointer mix, and I cannot walk him!

I have tried everything with this dog. Tried leash corrections, teaching him to heel with treats and praise, several different corrective collars, the “act like a tree” method… nothing. This dog just PULLS! He weighs 83 pounds now, and I am getting dragged around. I want to be a better dog owner and walk him more, but I just can’t control him! He gets so excited about everything! I play ball with him in the backyard for 20 minutes before walking him, and he is still full of energy by the time I get the leash on. I just want to teach him that I expect him to walk next to me calmly, not drag me down the street… and please, no foolish answers such as “beat him/hit him/kick him”… that’s just disgusting.

I really need advice on how to best work with this guy. Leash corrections are the toughest part, because he doesn’t even leave enough slack in the leash for me to right him.

we adopted a pomeranian on Saturday the 12th from the orange county animal shelter and she is five years ancient and want to know that how long would it take to get her and do they make excellent pets cause i heard they do making sure. when she gets home cause she is older can she do things that younger dogs can’t after they get spayed. thank you can’t wauit to hear your responses.

I am going to get a pure german rottweiler soon and i was curious in my searchings I see people say they are AKC, ACA, or CKC registered. I dont’ know anything about this. Could someone clarify to me if it is necessary to get them registered. Is it illegal not to? Does it matter where they are registered?

I have a miniature Schnauzer who weighs 17lbs. He is 5yrs ancient. He is updated on shots, healthy and registered. He has all his paper work. He is fun, loving and enjoys company. My hubby is getting deployed and we are looking for a loving and caring home for him. Im just so frightened that he will get abused. We live in San diego we would reckon there would be alot of people interested, but how do i get the word out.
For all those that seem not to know…if i just say..hey im giving my dog away..he more likely to get abused. And i just got him…i have not had him for 5yrs. I want to keep him but i also have a 2yr daughter and she is handle full by herself…doesnt anyone know…
