Rottweiler
Andrea questioned:

A small less than year from now I am graduating and moving out of my pet-free apartment! I would like a rottweiler puppy because that is my favorite breed, but I hear they are really expensive. Is this right?
I meant as far as an adoption fee. I heard in the range of $500-1000. I realize i have to pay for food and shots, that is a given and will be bugeted for.

How do I get the boston terrier to accept the new kitten ?

By milkbone Posted in Boston Terrier #16 / 6 Comments »
Boston Terrier
worried questioned:

My daughter brought home a kitten last week. This is new territory but since we have plenty of room I am willing to give it a try. The problem is that we have 4 dogs – golden retriever (12 yrs), choc lab (3 yrs), boston terrier (5 yrs) and english mastiff (7 mos). The golden retriever is an outside only dog and since she despises cats I don’t see that relationship going anywhere. The lab is indoor/outdoor and undecided about cats. I chose to start with the mastiff and the boston since they are indoors. The kitten has “her room ” and today I figured it was time to see what would happen. I started with the mastiff since he is mellow (although harder to hold) – it hurt his feelings when she hissed at him so he sat by the door and pouted – a excellent start! Then I brought boston in – he keeps going into “terrier” mode (brain function stops) and goes after her. I can’t tell if he would really hurt her or if he is just really excited. Any suggestions?

Will I ever be able to trust my Golden Retriever alone with my 10 week old Maltese?

Golden Retriever
BDiPaolo413 questioned:

We just bought a 10 week ancient Maltese a few days ago. We have a one and a half year ancient Golden Retriever and when we introduced them our Golden snapped at her a few times. Then the Maltese got near her bone and she nearly bit her! The Maltese is only 2 pounds so if our Golden gets ahold of her she’ll be gone. How can I get my Golden Retriever to accept the new puppy or will it always be like this?
They are both females.

do yorkshire terriers have different teeth structures to other dogs?

By milkbone Posted in Uncategorized / 4 Comments »
mrsmiley questioned:

i was playing with my yorkshire terrier when one of his teeth fell out. he is about 11months ancient so his milk teeth should all have fallen out by now. i was playing gently with him so it didnt fall out by force….i am trying to find pictures of yorkshire terriers teeth so that i can see whether what fell out is a milk or adult tooth. the tooth is a medium sized tooth on the side of his mouth, right behind his huge incisor. im not sure whether that is an adult tooth or one of his large milk teeth left over. please help! is it likely to be a milk or adult tooth? and are there any pictures of yorkshire terriers teeth online, cos i can only find pictures of teeth for large dogs, are they the same?
sorry, not incisor, its his large canine tooth
ive sent you an email to your yahoo address, would you mind taking a look at them please, yorkshire terrier??
thats fantastic, thanks a lot for the pictures!! thats a fantastic help, it looks like it was a milk tooth after all!! now i guess i need to get it pulled….phew…
sorry, i sent an email with a link in it, is it not working? looking at your pictures tho it looks like its certainly a milk tooth and needs to be removed. thanks a lot for clearing that up!
