Our one year ancient german shepherd has a really terrible odor. It smells like he’s been rolling around in poop all day. It’s coming from his coat. It stays on your hands after you pet him too. Is there anything we can do to get him smelling better???

I just took my 1 yr. ancient golden retriever to the groomer for the first time yesterday. He got the full service package from Petsmart (washed, dried, brushed, ears cleaned, nails clipped, and hair trimming). I do his regular teeth and brushing, and I also bathe him every couple of weeks. When should he need to go to the groomer again? The most vital thing he went for was to get trimmed because his hair gets so long and shaggy.

I have a 1 and a half year ancient female German small-haired pointer. She’s very energetic and playful but can get lonely sometimes. What breed of dog would be a excellent playmate for her? and would she get along with a male or another female better? Would it be better to get a puppy or dog the same age as her to avoid any ‘bullying’?

I have a 1 year and 5 month ancient chihuahua who had her first heat cycle, I believe, near the beginning of this year. (She would have been about 9-11 months ancient. A late bloomer.) As I recall, everything went “normal” as far as what was to be expected. I don’t know if she should have had another heat cycle though. I’ve heard some dogs have them only once a year. I realize it’s only been 6-8 months but I am just really careful with her. I know it should be expected anytime now or quite possibly not til next year depending on how she is. And I know I should have her fixed. I’ve been asking questions a/b my dog on here for months and months. Last September, we took her in to get spayed and she nearly died because of an unforseeable medical condition with her liver in which the anesthesia could not and still cannot be processed regularly. So that option is out. Our only hope is to keep a close eye on her as she grows up. So my question is still, should I be worried?
Yes, we are always VERY careful with her as there are some male dogs in the complex. We have told the owners that she will have heat conditions, therefor it would be best to stay away at those times. We haven’t seen any of the regular signs yet with her (bleeding, swelling, constant cleaning) which is why I was a bit worried. I would reckon if something were incorrect, she would have been acting differently but she’s perfectly normal.
Yeah, um, Dave? Try reading all the question first. We can’t have her spayed…
