Also what signs do I look for to tell she is going in to labor?

We live in a house with a huge backyard but without a fence. It backs up to an open corn field and there are lots of rabbits and some deer.

I want to get a beagle but I’m worried it will run away to chase rabbits.

If not a beagle, I would like a breed that has small hair, does not drool and is not too huge.

Any suggestions?

I have owned this 11 week ancient beagle for two weeks and I have place him in a crate every night. It appears that he will never get used to it. He cries every time I place him in there ALL NIGHT LONG. It doesnt matter if it’s next to my bed or down stairs. He just cries and cries and bawls and bawls. HELP ME!!!!
