Start now! It is never too soon! Use small treats as incentive and reward. My mother’s puppy (3 months ancient) just graduated puppy school. It only took 4 lessons to teach him the above commands.

Labradors are intelligent dogs but at the age of 8 weeks, their attention span is comparable to that of a gnat. Nearly non-existent. Although you CAN start now, I prefer to start the formalities of training when the dog is 12 weeks ancient. When your dog turns 12 weeks ancient, you can start puppy classes. It helps to have a puppy class once a week and then to practice what you have learned during the week.
